Ganjam is the State’s first district to register more than 1,000 Covid-19 positive cases.
With 75 new cases during the last 24 hours, the Covid tally of the district surged to 1,030 on Wednesday. The new cases included 14 Covid warriors.
Out of 1,030 cases, eight infected persons have died and 680 recovered. Thus, 342 patients are undergoing treatment at different Covid hospitals now, revealed the date furnished by the Health and Family Welfare Department in its dashboard.
Meanwhile, the Ganjam district administration restricted entry to all Government offices for common people for the next 10 days in view of some officials tested positive for the virus.
“From today onwards all government offices will be closed for citizens for the next 10 days. We had to take this decision as our senior officers are getting corona affected. We pray for their quick recovery,” tweeted Ganjam district Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange.
