Girls outshine boys in CBSE Class X board exams

Jharkhand girls have again proved their mettle in class X board exams as 91.88 per cent girls cleared the exam in comparison to 88.88 per cent boys who cleared it. The State has recorded a pass percentage of 90.64 per cent. A total of 90.69 per cent students passed the class X board exams conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Exams (CBSE) in Patna region under which Jharkhand falls. The much awaited results were announced by the board on Wednesday afternoon.

In Jharkhand 64,234 students were registered to take the exam which included 39,809 boys and 24,425 girls. A total of 63,784 students from the State appeared for the exam- 39,488 boys and 24,296 girls while the number of boys to have cleared the exam is around 35,493 and as many as 22,324 girls have passed.

“As compared to the past, the students have performed exceptionally well this time. Girls have outshined the boys and performed very well. Students have been able to score better marks in various subjects as well. The number of students who have scored above 90 percent marks is also more in comparison to past records,” said Jharkhand’s CBSE coordinator Manohar Lal.

“This is also the first time when a separate exam for Mathematics Basic and Mathematics advanced was conducted by the board. This has further enabled the students to score well in this subject. The number of students who have been unable to pass in this particular subject has also come down,” added Lal.

In Jamshedpur, Ashish Kumar Singh from DAV NIT student topped the city by scoring 98.4 % marks. Nivedita Paul from Kendriya Vidyalaya, Tatanagar was crowned the second topper scoring 98.2 % marks. With 98 per cent marks, DAV Public School Bistupur student Deepanshu Sau, Devashish Raj of Sant Nandlal Smriti Vidya Mandir, Ghatsila and Deep Das of Valley View School were joint third scoring 98 % marks. In Bokaro, Harsh Rai student of DPS Bokaro, Shree Krishna student of DAV School Koyla Nagar Dhanbad and Krishna Choudhary student of Rajkamal Shwarshwati Vidya Mandir Dhanbad scored 99 per cent marks while Soumya Thakur of DPS Bokaro and Ritisha Ranjan of Chianmay Vidyalaya scored 98.2 per cent marks. Tanay Ishan of Chinmaya Vidyalaya scored 98 per cent marks, informed the school authorities.

Delhi Public School, Ranchi

The students of DPS, Ranchi passed the class X board exams with flying colours. A total of 337 students appeared for the board exams and the school has recorded a pass percentage of 100 percent. As many as 196 students have scored above 90 percent and 49 have scored 100 percent marks in various subjects like Maths, Social Science, Sanskrit and IT. Anany Mishra was the school topper with 98.4 percent while Shiv Ratn and Aviral Singh got the second position with 98.2 percent marks. Principal Dr Ram Singh congratulated the students and said that the school has kept pace with the ceaseless and kaleidoscopic changes in the world preparing the students with global knowledge. The school hopes to keep the academy banner flying high by inculcating in the students, principles, and ideals which will guide and motivate them through life.

JVM Shyamali

The students of the school have shown exemplary performance in class X board exams. A total of 337 appeared for the exams and all have passed while 124 have scored above 90 percent marks. Harsha Priyam was the scool topper with 99 percent marks while Yuvraj Dutta, Aastha Priya and Ananya Singh got the second place with 98 percent.

Surendranath Centenary School

Students of SCS passed the board exams with flying colours. As many as 206 students took the class X board exams and all have cleared it. 41 students have scored above 90 percent whereas 81 have scored between 80- 90 percent. Tanisha Saumya and Puja Rakshit were the school toppers with 95.8 percent while Aayesha Anand came second with 95.4 percent marks. Principal Samita Sinha congratulated the students for their excellent performance and said it is the result is the untiring effort of the parents and teachers.

DAV Kapildev

Students of DAV Kapildev School have passed the class X boards with flying colours. Samridhi Sahay was the school with 98 percent, whereas Gurpreet Singh, Anushtha Jha Anjaali and Ankur Kumar secured the second position with 97 percent. A total of 221 students appeared for the exam and the pass percentage is 100 where 61 students have scored about 90 per cent marks. DAV Kapildev Principal MK Sinha congratulated the DAV Management, LMC members, Teachers of the school and parents on the stupendous success.

He said that there was a huge expectation of such good results in the board exams and in future also the school will perform better.  

Sarla Birla Public School

A  total of 227 appeared for the class X board exams out of which 43 have scored more than 90 percent marks. Devanshu Priy scored 97.2 percent was declared the school topper. Aradhya Jain secured the second position with 96.6 percent. School Head Personnel and Admin Pradip Verma said that it is the collective result of students, teachers and parents. Principal Paramjit Kaur said that is is the hard work and concentration of the students that has led to such a laudable result.

DAV Hehal

The students of DAV Hehal have shown exemplary performance in class X board exams. Leeza Oraon scored 100 in two subjects- Hindi and Computer Application and was declared the topper with 99 percent marks. Aditya Ujjwal Singh secured the second position with 97.6 percent. A total of 441 students took the board exam and 45 students have scored more than 95 percent marks. 

St. Michael’s School

A total of 196 appeared for the exam and the school has recorded a 100 percent pass percentage. Aditya Kishore wad the school topper with 96.4 percent where as Mritunjay Kumar secured the second place with 96 percent. A total of 121 boys and 75 girls took the exam and 30 students have scored an aggregate of 90 percent and above.

Guru Nanak School

Students of the school have passed the class X boards with flying colours. A total of 30 students have scored more than 90 percent marks. Sameer Shekhar was the school topper with 97.2 percent whereas Shubham Kumar secured the second spot with 96.2 percent. Principal Manohar Lal said that the students excel in board exams every year. In order to encourage the meritorious students from other boards like JAC, ICSE, CBSE and Bihar board, the admission fee for students with above 95 percent will be waived off while for those with above 92 percent marks, 50 percent of the fee will be waived off.

Bridgeford School

Students of the school have proved their mettle in AISSE-2020. Shaswat Srisecured the first position with 97.6 percent marks while Garvit Raj came second with 96.8 percent. The school has recorded a 100 percent success rate. About 28 students have scored more than 95 percent and 78 have scored more than 90 percent. Vice Chairperson Priyanka Jalan, Principal Seema Chitlangia and the school management congratulated the students and teachers for this achievement.

Oxford Public School

Students of OPS have achieved great success in class X board exams. Astha became the topper with 97.8 percent marks while Anurag came second with 97.6 percent. A total of 298 students appeared for the exam and all have passed where 63 scored more than 90 percent and 227 passed with distinction.
