Saturday, 14 March 2020 | PNS | BHUBANESWAR

The Health and Family Welfare Department on Friday issued various regulations in view of the novel coronavirus outbreak under the ‘COVID-19 Odisha Regulations, 2020’ approved by the State Cabinet earlier on the day.

The regulations will remain valid for a period of one year.

Now, all Government and private hospitals should have COVID-19 corners for screening of suspected cases. The hospitals during screening will record the travel history of person to any country or area where COVID-19 has been reported. In addition, the history of contacts of the suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19 would also be recorded.

In case the person has any such history of travel to affected areas in the last 14 days and he/she is asymptomatic, the person must remain in home quarantine for 14 days from the day of exposure. Persons who do not observe the Home Quarantine Guidelines shall be quarantined in the quarantine facilities set up by Government.

The regulation has also prohibited COVID-19 tests. The private healthcare institutions intending to test COVID-19 must send their test samples through the State IDSP unit. The State IDSP unit will arrange testing strictly as per the guidelines issued by Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), New Delhi.
