In a significant move, all Chhattisgarh government offices across the state will remain shut on Saturday during the weekend complete lockdown.
The General Administration Department on Friday issued an order to ensure compliance of the complete lockdown in government offices too in a bid to arrest the spread of the coronavirus disease.
The government had earlier decided to enforce a complete lockdown on Saturdays and Sundays in May.
Earlier, it was decided that the presence of all Gazetted Officers will be mandatory during the ongoing lockdown 4 while half the subordinate employees will be called each day on rotation.
But with a sudden spurt in Covid-19 cases in Chhattisgarh triggering concerns in the government, it was decided to enforce the complete lockdown strictly, an official order said.
