Govt to come up with road map of next four years: CM

CM Hemant Soren, on his maiden visit to the city after becoming the Chief Minister said that his first year on the helm of the State has been very challenging. The Government will come up with a road map of development for the next four years. The Government will present its roadmap to the public. Soren was interacting with the media at Uliyan at Kadma. He was in the city to pay tribute to slain leader Nirmal Mahto, whose birth anniversary was observed on Friday.

After paying floral tribute to the statue of the departed leader, who was gunned down in 1987 in front of the Chamaria guest house at Bistupur area here, Soren said that when he took as the CM o the State development of Jharkhand derailed. During the first year he has worked to bring the development path back on the track.

When questioned over illegal mining in the State, the Chief Minister said that steps are being taken to take stern action against illegal mining.

Tributes were paid at Ulyan, the birth place of Mahto, this afternoon. Various functions were organised across the city where senior leaders of JMM paid homage to their leader Mahto.

A prayer meeting was organised near Nirmal Mahto’s memorial at Uliyan in Kadma. After the prayer meeting, JMM supporters accompanied by their leaders paid floral tributes to Mahto at his bust situated near Tata Steel’s guest house in Bistupur.

Health Minister Banna Gupta, JMM leaders Champai Soren, Ramdas Soren, senior leaders Mohan Karmakar and Raju Giri, former Jamshedpur MP Suman Mahto, were present on the occasion. 

Addressing the gathering of the supporters at Kadma Soren said, “The need of the hour is to work genuinely for the development of the state as Nirmal Da laid his life for the creation of a separate state to make tribals of this region earn livelihood with dignity.”

The gathering this year was relatively low with people from Odisha and West Bengal coming in huge numbers were low due to Covid-19

Meanwhile, JMM leaders maintained that with the increase in the reach of Nirmal Da's ideology amongst the party workers of neighbouring states particularly, West Bengal and Odisha their turnout had been increasing over the years.
