Gurugram sees 457 cases in 5 days

The Gurugram district has reported 457 fresh corona positive patients in just last five days including 97 cases on Sunday. The district had also notified 63 containment zones on May 28.

As per data provided by Gurugram Health Department, 20 corona cases were detected on May 27, 68 on May 28, 115 on May 29 and the city also recorded 157 cases of coronavirus on May 30.

According to the health bulletin on May 31, a total of 774 people in the district have now tested positive for the infection. More than half of the total cases 457 have emerged in the last five days, of those who have tested positive, 284 have recovered and three have succumbed from the deadly infection.

Officials from the district administration, however, insist there is no reason for panic despite the sudden spike in cases. “The Health Department is working as per the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs (HMA).

Meanwhile, people also complaining about non-restricted movement in containment zones, areas not sealed despite in containment zones, non-identification of houses where coronavirus patients had isolated.

“We have initiated random Covid-19 sampling of vegetable vendors, health workers, police personnel, media personnel, pharmacists, depot holders, sanitation workers etc. Also, special campaigns for the screening of slum dwellers are also initiated in the city following the direction of Haryana Government,” said a senior health official.

Moreover, the administration has assured all the residents that there is enough medical preparedness in the district to deal with the current situation of Covid-19, one need not panic or fear about it.

Also, the district magistrate Amit Khatri impose night curfew from 9.00 pm to 5.00 am till June 30 on Sunday.

“The district administration would soon issue a standard operating procedure regarding Covid-19, so that people would know what to do in-home isolation and if there is a positive case report in the neighbourhood then in that case what precautions are to be taken.

 Apart from this, it will also be told when it will be appropriate to do the sampling and when the patient needs to be hospitalized and what precautions should be taken by the people living in the Containment Zone,” said a spokesperson of the district administration.

Meanwhile, Gurugram district administration has served a show-cause notice to private hospitals which include Paras, Park and W Pratiksha for refusing admission of the corona-infected patient. The hospital has been asked to submit its reply within one day.
