On the occasion of the Armed Forces Flag Day on December 7, the Chhattisgarh Governor and Chief Minister on Sunday urged people to generously donate to the Flag Day Fund.

Governor Anusuiya Uikey said in a message that this is an opportunity to pay respect and reverence to the sacrifices made by the brave soldiers who while performing their duties have been martyred.

The maximum collection will be a true tribute to the martyred soldiers, she said.

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that due to the sacrifice and dedication of the soldiers, the borders of the country are secure. The unity and integrity of the country is also safe, an official communication quoted him as saying.

He added: “On the occasion, symbolically through the Flag, we join the tradition of realizing our responsibility to our great fighters and their families. Through charity, the funds collected will be utilized for the welfare of our brave, experienced, committed soldiers, ex-servicemen and families of martyred.”
