nA hardcore Naxalite carrying a cash reward of Rs 1 lakh on his head was arrested by security forces from Chhattisgarh's insurgency-hit Dantewada district, police said here on Tuesday.
Motiram Vetti (30), a resident of Bedma village which falls in Barsur police station limits, was caught from Barsur town based on intelligence inputs, said Chandrakant Garvana, the Sub Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP), Dantewada.
A team from Barsur police station caught him in Atal Chowk, he said.
Vetti is said to have worked as a Maoist LOS (Local Organizing Squad) member in Handawada region and was also a Maoist Janmilita Commander.
He was wanted for incidents like attacking police, distributing Naxalite pamphlets, setting fire to construction vehicles, planting IEDs and looting villagers.
