As many as five armed criminals looted cash and jewelry from a house at Kamre locality under Ratu police station of city capital on Friday wee-hours.
An FIR was lodged by the police and investigation launched to nab criminals.
Incident took place at the residence of a local resident Vijay Gupta; a small time businessman.
Vijay was out of town only his wife Neha Gupta was present at the house along with her three years old daughter.
“Criminals scaled the boundary wall of the house. Later on they managed entry inside the house by managing lock of the iron grille of the main gate of the house. They were carrying iron rods and knives. They stayed for half an hour and looted some jewelry besides Rs 3000 cash also,” said an official of Ratu police.
Incident has left local residents panicked and they are also angry over local police station due to poor law and order situation. This is the third incident of theft in less than one month. On June 20; four-wheeler of Arvind Singh was stolen parked outside of his house. On June 29 a case of housebreak was reported at the residence of one Arun Sahu.
