Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala on Saturday distributed scooties to 42 female Panchayat representatives of seven districts including Bhiwani, Charkhi Dadri, Jind, Hisar, Sirsa, Fatehabad, and Kaithal for their commendable work. He said that a felicitation ceremony will soon be organised in Panchkula to honour women Panchayat representatives from five districts of northern Haryana.
Addressing the women representatives at the programme organised in Jind, the Deputy Chief Minister said in the election of Panchayati Raj Institutions, 50 percent reservation will be given to women so that they do not lag behind in any field but can come forward and contribute their 100 percent in the development of the state by playing an important role in the development of their area, and village, he added.
Dushyant said that the State Government is also making efforts to increase the income of panchayats and warehouses will be built to stock 7 lakh metric tonnes of food grains in rural areas, he added.
