BSL teams win awards at NQCC

The 34th National Quality Circle Conference-20 (NCQC-2020) was organized by Quality Circle Forum of India, Hyderabad in online mode. The main theme of this conference based on the quality concept was "Self-reliant India through quality concepts". The competition had two components - case studies and knowledge tests. Sharing the information Manikant Dhan COC, BSL, said that 12 teams from Bokaro Steel Plant participated in NCQC-2020, out of which 8 teams were awarded with Par Excellence and 4 teams were awarded Excellence Awards.

‘Ensure all last mile connectivity in DFC’

Railways should gear up to ensure all last mile connectivity as it speeds up the problem progress of DFCs in the country, said Piyush Goyal Minister for Railways and Commerce & Industry and Consumer Affairs, Food &  Public Distribution while reviewing the progress of upcoming DFCs. He asked the officials to continue to engage and coordinate with all the stake holders in ensuring that remaining sections of land acquisitions are also completed at earliest. The minister also suggested the formation of dedicated management teams, led by a senior official for each project of Railways, for day to day effective monitoring and resolution of the project issues.

Virtual Fancy Dress Competition at SBPS

Sarala Birla Public School, Ranchi organized a virtual fancy dress competition for the students of class KG I to V based on the theme ‘Fairy Tale Characters’. The students performed beautifully in the guise of their favourite characters and impressed the jury members. School Head Personnel and Admin Pradip Varma was happy to see the enthusiasm with which kids participated. Principal Mrs. Paramjit Kaur said, “It was good to see the little ones in costumes of their favourite characters. The overwhelming response of the students as well as the parents is praiseworthy.”

Justice Vikramaditya Prasad passes away

Justice (retired) Vikramaditya Prasad took his last breath here on Monday. Prasad was Judge in Jharkhand High court and he later became chairperson of as many as nine different commissions and tribunals. Tributes poured in after the demise of Prasad. Chief Minister Hemant Soren, judges of Jharkhand High Court along with several prominent figures of the State paid tributes to the retired justice.

STS wing wins badminton tournament

Border Security Force annual Inter Wing Badminton tournament was held from 21-27 December at Chaturvadi Indoor stadium at Meru camp in Hazaribag. The STS wing of TC&S grabbed the overall championship winning the final play on Sunday late evening. The chief guest commandant cum IG, Ravi Gandhi gave away prizes to the winners and runners up. On this occasion he said that fitness is an important part of jawans’ life. Different games are the only ways to always keep the jawans fit. He appreciated the utility and necessity of introducing the games.

PM names Garhwa resident

In his famous "Man Ki Bat" programme aired on Sunday, the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi during discussion the achievements of youth across the country, discussed about a dictionary written in Korwa language by a 35-year-old Hiraman Korwa, resident of Sinjo village in Garhwa district. He said that Hiraman has made the said dictionary with tireless efforts of 12 years.  The Korwa tribe has a population of just six thousand, who live in the forests and mountains away from the cities.  Hiraman has taken up the task to save the culture and identity of his community.  The dictionary of the extinct Korwa language has been prepared.  From the words used in the household to the household, many words used in daily life are written with meaning in the dictionary.  What Heeraman has done is an example for the country, he said.
