Sikh Sangat hails Bahga as BJP state vP

Chandigarh: Rashtriya Sikh Sangat office bearers of Chandigarh unit on Thursday honoured Surinder Bahga for being appointed as the state vice-president of BJP Chandigarh. Bahga has been supporting Rashtriya Sikh Sangat from time to time. Its Chandigarh unit general secretary Kulmeet Singh Sodhi discussed various development related issues of the city with Bahga and thanked city’s BJP president Arun Sood for giving Sikhs a representation in his team.

 

Geeta assumes office of PAFC chairperson

Chandigarh: Punjab Brahman Sabha’s women wing president Geeta Sharma on Thursday took over the charge as chairperson of the Punjab Agro Foodgrains Corporation in the presence of the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh’s Advisor BIS Chahal. Congratulating Geeta on her new appointment, Chahal hoped that the Food Grain Corporation would be immensely benefitted from her leadership and visionary approach.

 

‘Top Thai Brands’ inauguarted in Chandigarh

Chandigarh: An exclusive exhibition on the rich culture, art, cuisines and products of Thailand – ‘Top Thai Brands 2020’ organized by Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), Ministry of Commerce, Royal Thai Government and supported by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) was inaugurated on Thursday at Himachal Bhawan, Chandigarh, and shall be open for visitors till March 15.

 

Amisha, Anand launch a production house

Chandigarh: To give solid platform to Punjab’s budding singers, actors, filmmakers and technicians, renowned film production house – Magnificent Films Production Private Limited – launched its another branch in Mohali’s Phase 3A on Thursday in the presence of various Bollywood stars. Along with its Managing Directors Rohit Kumar (who is also an actor and film director) and Manjul Batra, Magnificent Films Production’s Mohali studio was inaugurated by famous Bollywood actors Tinu Anand and Amisha Patel.

 

PU gets Indo-Egypt research grant from DST

Chandigarh: Dr Gurpal Singh (UIPS), Dr Neha Singla (Biophysics) and Dr Ravi P Barnwal  (Biophysics) from Panjab University, Chandigarh, have been sanctioned with a prestigious collaborative Indo-Egypt research project from Department of Science and Technology (DST), India, and Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT), Egypt. This research project has been selected among 120 projects submitted by different scientists across the world.

 

PU NSS creates awareness about Coronavirus

Chandigarh: Panjab University’s NSS volunteers are creating awareness drives in Panjab University Campus and surrounding villages advising the people to avoid large gatherings and avoid having symptoms of cough and cold. People were told to wash hands frequently with soap and use hand sanitizer. People in village Dhanas were given demo of hand washing by volunteers and to throw away all tissues in a bin after contact with coughing and sneeze. NSS volunteers in groups of five each are visiting hostels, shops and surrounding villages and advising people not to panic about Coronavirus as Indians have one of the toughest immune system.
