Min singla hands over Appointment letters

Chandigarh: Punjab School Education and Public Works Minister Vijay Inder Singla on Monday handed over appointment letters to 56 newly-appointed employees in PWD and School Education Department. Out of total, 40 candidates have been inducted in Education Department and 16 candidates in Public Works Department on various posts on compassionate grounds. Singal urged them to discharge their responsibilities diligently and honestly.

Tewari seeks revival of NFL hosp in Nangal

Ropar: Congress MP from Sri Anandpur Sahab Manish Tewari on Monday sought the revival and renovation of National Fertilisers Limited (NFL) Hospital at Nangal. In a letter written to NFL chairman Virendra Nath Datt, Tewari said that the hospital has potential to become an excellent medical resource for the people of the region including areas such as Anandpur Sahib, Banga, Garhshankar in Punjab and Una in neighbouring Himachal Pradesh.

Bureau Veritas declares Elante Mall Safe

 Chandigarh: Bureau Veritas, a certification organization, has declared Elante Mall to be ‘safe and secure’ after an extensive audit on Monday. Elante Mall was found to be complying with maximized hygiene standards to ensure health and safety of its customers, retailers, and staff. The audit was conducted on exhaustive SOPs which were circulated by the Shopping Centres Association of India (SCAI) and local authorities.

PU VC stresses for more ODL, online courses

Chandigarh: Panjab University Vice-Chancellor Prof Raj Kumar on Monday participated in the meeting of National Committee constituted by the UGC for integration of Regulations of Open Distance Learning (ODL) and Online courses and gave valuable suggestions as to simplify regulation of ODL and online courses, how more visibility could be ensured in both the modes of courses. Taking into consideration the present COVID-19 pandemic situation, he stressed upon the need of more online and ODL courses which would help in teaching learning without physical presence.

‘Mission Fateh’ warriors honoured

SAS Nagar/Derabassi: As a part of Punjab Government’s Mission Fateh campaign, 25 publicity vans were flagged off on June 14 from Mohali District Administrative Complex which would spread awareness as well as sensitize people about coronavirus, said Derabassi SDM Kuldeep Bawa on the occasion of honouring 50 Mission Fateh Warriors for spreading awareness about coronavirus. Keeping in view the social distancing norms, only 10 badges were pinned personally.
