World-class facilities at ECR stations

Passengers will soon start getting high quality facilities at the ECR stations. Work has been started to make the railway stations world class by Rail Land Development Authority; World class passenger facilities will be provided at a total of five stations including Rajendranagar Terminal, Muzaffarpur, Gaya, Begusarai and Singrauli of East Central Railway. These works related to the redevelopment of stations will be completed by the Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) in PPP (Public Private Partnership) mode. This step of the railway will greatly speed up the development of passenger facilities. It may be noted that the Railway Land Development Authority is a statutory authority under the Ministry of Railways.

NSUI protesters demand jobs

Following all social distancing norms, members of NSUI organised a peaceful protest at Bapu Vatika, Morabadi on August 8. The protesters demanded a fee waiver for one semester and also that the universities should either conduct the exam once the pandemic is over or cancel it. NSUI State Vice President Om Prakash Mishra said that Modi government is runnig on anti- student policies which will prove to be harmful for them in the coming times. In the current situation there is no need to conduct NEET, B.Ed or any other exam and the government should only focus on providing employment to the studentssaid State Secretary Amarjeet Kumar. Gaurav Anand, Tilak Singh and others were present on the occasion.

Tribute to martyr Nirmal Mahto

On the 33rd Martyrdom Day, various students led by student leader Devndranath Mahto paid their tributes to statue of Nirmal Mahto on Saturday. On the occasion the student leader said that the history of Jharkhand state movement is incomplete without the martyr Nirmal Mahto. “On August 8, 1987 after the meeting of Jharkhand Separate State movement, five criminals fired three bullets at Mahto who died on the spot and the murder has not been investigated yet.” He also urged the present government to investigate the murder. Haldhar Mahto, Lucky Ramu Raj, Gurudayal Munda and others were present on the occasion.

11 sand laden tractors seized

Tightening the noose around rampant illegal sand mining on riverbanks, a district mining department team in association with Chatrochti police on Friday conducted a raid on the banks of river Koniya in Gomia block, about 45 km from the district headquarters, and seizing 11tractors engaged in transporting sand consignment. FIRs have been lodged against culprits who engaged in illegal mining, who were booked under several IPC sections, including 414 (assistance in concealment of stolen property), sections 4/54 and 9/13 of the Jharkhand Minor Mineral Concession Rules, 2004, and section 4/21 of Mines and Minerals Act, 1957.

7 held in rape case

Garhwa Police arrested seven persons in connection with the gang rape of two minor girl of Uttar Pradesh under Banshidhar Nagar police station, on Saturday. The incident occurred on July 29 at Baraitand forest near Banshidhar Nagar Sub-divisional headquarters. On the statement of victims a case was registered with the police station against unknown one dozen youths and all the accused were taken into custody.
