Punjab’s Advisory Panel to promote investment
Chandigarh: To further woo investment in the food processing sector in the State, Punjab Government has issued a notification to constitute an advisory committee. Food Processing Minister will be the chairman of this committee, chairman Punjab Agro Industries Corporation, Chairman Milkfed Punjab and Chairman Markfed are the non-official members of this committee, said a spokesman. Additional Chief Secretary (Development), Principal Secretary Department of Finance, Principal Secretary Department of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Principal Secretary Department of Animal Husbandry, Principal Secretary Department of Industries & Commerce, Principal Secretary Punjab Bureau of Investment Promotion (PBIP) are official members. The committee will meet at least once in two months to identify probable projects for new investment, he added.
HP I&PR Depart mourns death of DPRO Bilaspur
Shimla: Director, Information and Public Relations Harbans Singh Brascon and officers and officials of the department have mourned the demise of Krishan Pal, who was serving at the post of District Public Relations Officer, Bilaspur. He passed away
on Thursday night in a private hospital in Chandigarh. Brascon said that Krishan Pal rendered his valuable services to the department for long years on the post of Assistant Public Relations Officers and was later promoted as DPRO. All the staff members of the department have expressed their sympathies with the bereaved family members and prayed to the Almighty for peace of the departed soul.

Chandigarh: With the Government's directive permitting gathering of 100 individuals in social events from September 21 under unlock 4.0 phase, CITCO's five star property Hotel Mountview and four star property Hotel Shivalikview are opened to register bookings for organizing Weddings, conferences or any gatherings up to 100 people. A spokesman said, the Banquets will strictly adhere to standard operating procedure to provide greater care to guests and attendees. The SOPs include temperature check on arrival for all guests, mandatory masks for all guests and staff and frequent sanitization of all common areas, including the kitchens. Haryana farmers can upload details by Sept 20
Chandigarh: Bajra growers in Haryana who have missed out on registering under the 'Meri Fasal Mera Byora' (MFMB) scheme for any reason, can now upload details of their crop on the portal till September 20, whereas farmers growing other Kharif crops can register till September 25. As many as 7,80,867 farmers have so far registered 43,08,444.97 acres on the portal. Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Department, Sanjeev Kaushal, said that a decision to this effect was taken in a meeting in order to ensure complete coverage of all farmers in the state. Urging the farmers to register on the MFMB portal, Kaushal said, the Department had set a target to ensure 100 per cent coverage of farmers under the scheme during Kharif-2020.
AICTE signs MoU with YMCA
Chandigarh: All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has signed MoU with J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad to conduct joint training programmes for teachers on technical education quality parameters and providing certification to them. partnership with AICTE can play an important role to achieve high standards in Technical Education and to implement the quality initiatives taken by AICTE to improve the capacity of Technical Institutions. The University is working to support and provide mentorship services to its affiliated colleges to get NAAC and NBA Accreditation, he added.
special concession nod of Rs 500 in street vending fee
Chandigarh: A meeting of Town Vending Committee, Municipal Corporation of Chandigarh resolved to approve Rs 500 concession in the monthly Street Vending Fee for those street vendors who will avail the benefit of PM SVANidhi Yojna. The same will be effective from the date of the approval of the loan till the loan period i.e. for a total 12 months. Around 6,000 vendors will be benefitted from this, a spokesman said. The committee also discussed the consideration of surveyed street vendors but not registered yet by the MCC for availing the benefit under PM SVANidhi under which the work has already been completed for Phase-I as per the bylaws and registration under Phase-2 will be commenced shortly.
Three juveniles arrested in Chandigarh
Chandigarh: The UT Police has arrested three juveniles wanted in the murder case of 20 years old Karan in Dadumajra colony, two days back. A spokesman said, after committing the murder of Karan, a resident of Sector-38, all the three Juveniles went to Ludhiana (Punjab) by hiring a three-wheeler and when they came to know that a special team of Chandigarh Police (PS-Maloya) is searching for them in Ludhiana then they returned to
Chandigarh. A case under Sections 302, 34 IPC was registered against the three juveniles who murdered Karan due to an old rivalry, he added.
