CM expresses condolences on demise of Keshubai Patel

Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal has expressed deep condolences on the sad demise of Keshubhai Patel, a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party and former Chief Minister of Gujarat.  Patel was ill for a long time and breathed his last today.  He was 92 years old. In a condolence message, Manohar Lal said, his death is an irreparable loss for BJP and for the Indian politics, especially for Gujarat.  He also expressed condolences to the bereaved family and prayed that the departed soul may rest in peace.

Vigilance arrests AJS for taking bribe

Chandigarh: Punjab State Vigilance Bureau has arrested an Assistant Jail Superintendent (AJS) Harbans Singh posted at Modern Jail Faridkot for taking a bribe of `15000. A spokesperson said, accused AJS was arrested on the complaint of Satwinder Singh of village Tehna, Faridkot district. The complainant had informed the VB that the accused AJS was demanding a bribe of Rs. 15,000 not to register a police case against his nephew after recovery of mobile phone from him who is lodged inside jail barrack.  A case under section of prevention of corruption act has been registered against him at VB police station, Ferozepur and further investigation is under progress, he said.

Haryana Edu Dept starts process of promotion

Chandigarh: Haryana School Edu Dept has started the process for promotions to the post of Deputy District Edu Officer. A spokesperson said, to fill the vacant posts of Deputy District Edu Officer, promotion from block education officer is to be done. The dept has directed the concerned officers to complete the record of the block education officers according to the seniority list of the Principal Class, dated June 27, 2019, from serial number 768 to 1230 after verifying a summary sheet for the 10-year annual confidential report and a no-objection certificate and to ensure sending it to the Directorate within a week by emailing at dsehrg1@gmail.com or through the recognized courier by filling it in the attached proforma, he added.

3 awarded prizes in a photography competition in Haryana

Chandigarh: Haryana Department of Information, Public Relations and Languages awarded consolation prizes to three participants in a photography competition organized on the theme of International Geeta Jayanti Festival to promote International Geeta Festival. A spokesman said, this photography competition was organised with an objective of getting outstanding real photographs for outdoor media for publicity on the International Geeta Festival. Around 11 contestants had participated in this competition and three entries were selected. These included Mandeep Singh of district Kaithal, Shilpa of Kurukshetra and Sunil Maratha of Jind. These participants have been sent a consolation prize amounting to Rs 1,100 each along with a letter of appreciation through registered post.
