Fisheries to be made more profitable
Chandigarh: Congratulating the fish farmers on National Fish Farmers Day, Punjab Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Dairy Development Minister Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa on Thursday said that by adopting fish farming as an ancillary business, the farmers of the state would further increase their income by adopting the latest scientific techniques in this field and contribute to the economic prosperity of the state. The Minister said that due to huge demand for Jhingan fish abroad, farmers could easily increase their income by adopting Jhingan fish farming. This year the government was planning to expand the new technology in the field of fisheries under which RAS system and bio-flock technology for fish farming would be promoted in the State which would make fish farming more easy and profitable.
Nadaun Police Station ranked among top
Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Thursday congratulated the State Police in general and Nadaun Police Station of district Hamirpur in particular for being ranked as one of the best Police Stations of the country and the best Police Station of the State. He said that the Certificate of Excellence was provided to Nadaun Police Station by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The ranking of police stations is carried out by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs and the same was released by the Union Home Minister in a ceremony during DGPs Conference recently.

Amritsar: With ease in lockdown and resumption of intercity mobility, IntrCity RailYatri, India’s largest intercity mobility brand has resumed its SmartBus services between Amritsar and Delhi. The company has introduced Safe+ initiative to ensure safety of its travelers, crew and driver-partners. Additionally, IntrCity RailYatri has also launched Covid-19 Insurance as an add-on for its travelers.
2 more smart street food carts started
Chandigarh: PGIMER’s Department of Community Medicine and SPH and the Municipal Corporation of Chandigarh had jointly initiated a project entitled ‘Convergence of initiative of Women, Child and Social development agencies of Chandigarh for mainstreaming Street Vendors’ Welfare through integrated training enterprise of its Municipal Corporation with special focus on street food hygiene’. Under this, 20 workshops were held in first phase and capacity building of more than 600 street food vendors has been done. Now, second phase of this project has also been sanctioned.
buddy groups to improve edu practices
Chandigarh: Punjab School Education Department secretary Krishan Kumar, expressing satisfaction and happiness over the role being played by teachers in creating awareness among the people during the COVID-19 epidemic, on Thursday directed the teachers to further expedite the campaign. At the same time, he has formed a buddy group to further accelerate corona awareness and improve education in different districts. The members of these group will share work done in their districts with their counterparts in other districts and will bring best practice to each other in their respective schools.
UT Adviser interacts with Rayat Law College
Chandigarh: Adviser to the UT Administrator Manoj Parida on Thursday attended a webinar on Chandigarh Administration’s fighting Corona, organized by Rayat College of Law. College’s faculty convener Dr Charu Dureja and Purba Juneja hosted the programme wherein the participants asked several questions regarding steps taken by Chandigarh Administration in containing coronavirus in the Union Territory. The Adviser mentioned about unique steps taken in Chandigarh like use of public buses for delivery of vegetable and fruits at doorsteps, facility of hotels for health workers.
