Yogoda Satsanga Ashram relief work

Yogoda Satsanga Sakha Ashram in Ranchi founded by Paramahansa Yogananda served around 6,000 needy and vulnerable families in Ranchi and nearby villages during the lockdown period. Assistance to these families was provided in the form of ration, cooked food, and sanitary kits. Dry rations included items like rice, dal, vegetables, spices, and oil which can support a family for a week. The dry ration kits were prepared in the ashram by sannyasis & volunteers. Over the past week, several hundred ration kits were distributed in Huang Hatu panchayat, Karam Toli, Siromtoli, Hindpiri, Chutia, Itki etc. Vegetables grown by the Ashram were provided to the local police station in Chutia, who used them in the community kitchen to prepare Khichiri, which was then distributed among thousands of needy individuals. Also, devotees of Yogoda Ashram provided cooked food to around 50 people for two months near Ranchi and Hatia station. Overall, over 20,000 kgs of foodgrains and 18,000 kgs of vegetables were distributed.

 APS Ranchi chapter holds meet

Ranchi chapter of Association of Plastic Surgeons met at a clinical meet at RPS Hospital, Bariatu on June 05. The meeting was presided by Dr Ajoy Kr Singh (RPS hospital) and Dr Arvind Prakash (Medanta Hospital).Two new members were welcomed , Dr Tanmay prasad (Devkamal Hospital) and Dr Saurabh Sharma (RIMS). There were three clinical presentations.  Dr Tanmay talked on coverage of hand defects by groin flaps, Dr Pankaj Kumar showed his good results of microvascular repairs for defects and Dr Vikrant talked about liposuction for body contouring. The meeting was attended by Dr Vijay S Das (ex DGHS) , Dr Anant Sinha ( Devkamal Hospital), Dr Raj kumar Pathak (Devkamal  hospital) and Dr C P Sinha ( RIMS). It was decided to have a clinical meet once a month and to create more awareness amongst fellow doctors and public in general.

SCS celebrates World Environment Day

On World Environment Day, a series of activities for students from UKG to class XII was organised at Surendranath Centenary School. UKG students drew and coloured butterflies and flowers while for class II the topic was ‘My school garden or kitchen garden’. Students of class IV and V made posters on importance of water conservation and ceasing the use of plastic. Students from class VII- X planted saplings with their parents and wrote slogans to expand greenery. Principal Samita Sinha said, “No effort is small. Each helping hand counts to support this initiative and spread awareness. Let us all join hands to protect our environment to ensure a healthy and safe future.” Students showcased their talent while they stayed home.

World Environment Day

In response to covid-19 crisis, SBPS organised an online “Go Green” activity to spread awareness among the students to join hands and save our Mother Earth. The school received an overwhelming response from the parents and the students. Despite being confined to their homes, children actively participated in various competitions. We are immensely proud to see the efforts put in by the students that made this competition a great success

DPS student wins Poster Competition

Adrija Sarkar of Class XI at DPS Ranchi made the school proud by winning an Online Poster Competition organized by Jharkhand Biodiversity Board on the occasion of International Biodiversity Day (IBD) 2020. She would be awarded a certificate and a cash prize of Rs 5000. The competition was conducted on May 22 and the topic was “Effect on Nature Due To Present Lockdown”. She presented a stupendous creation by representing a lady in the center as Mother earth and other plant and animal lives which are equally important to maintain the ecological balance

Caterers demand relaxations for smooth business 

In a bid to attract attention of the State Government towards plight of the caterers, Jharkhand Caterers Association (JAC) urged the State Government on Friday that they should be allowed to start their business after providing some relaxation in the guideline issued by the Government. Addressing a press meet, JAC Secretary, Arun Singh said that in the hour of epidemic and lockdown a large number of people related to catering business suffered heavily so that the State Government should provide them some relaxation to bring their business on the right track. The Government should give permission to attend 200 persons in wedding or other functions instead of 50 persons, he added. JAC president Ranjan Kumar said  that the e-pass should be issued for those who have to attend functions as after 9 pm they can go anywhere during curfew.

JPPC observes Environment Day

On the occasion of World Environment Day, Chairman of Jharkhand Pradesh Professional Congress, Aditya Vikram Jaiswal distributed 51 Tulsi saplings at many places including Lalpur in the Capital City and also planted 50 mango saplings. On this occasion, Jaiswal said that World Environment Day is celebrated all over the world for the protection of environment. He said that human life will be safe only by balancing the environment. Plant trees - Under life savings, every human being must plant trees on the world environment.

NSUI plants saplings at RU

On the occasion of World Environment Day, a delegation of the State NSUI led by State secretary Amarjeet Kumar met Vice Chancellor of Ranchi University and offered him 51 Tulsi saplings as greetings that in the interest of the students under the guidance of UGC the university promoted 800,000 students in the next semester. NSUI, along with the Vice Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor, planted those plants in the garden of Ranchi University and pledged that in the coming days, they will plant more plants, so that in the coming time, they can move one step towards purifying the environment. Vice Chancellor of Ranchi University, Dr Ramesh Pandey said that NSUI is doing a good job towards environment and students’ interest. On the occasion, Pro Vice Chancellor Kamini Kumar and Controller of Examinations Rajesh Kumar also praised the NSUI.

BAU celebrates Environment Day

World Environment Day was observed on Friday in the Forestry Faculty of Birsa Agricultural University (BAU) by following social distance. Several mohini saplings were planted on the faculty campus by teachers and personnel including Dean of the Faculty MH Siddiqui and this year it was resolved to plant a large number of saplings on the university campus in the monsoon.
