Robbery in Chndrapura

Half a dozen armed criminals between age group of 30 to 45, raided the residence of CCL officer Avinash Kumar at Central Colony in Makoli under Chandrapura police station on Wednesday night and took away property worth nearly 10 lakhs, including jewellery, said Nutan Modi Officer  in Charge Chanderpura police station. As per the FIR, Sanju Devi, wife of CCL officer Avinash Kumar, said that six dacoits with weapons attacked her residence after taking hostage their night guard. The dacoits broke almirah in which all jewellery was kept and cash Rs 60,000, clothes, mobile phones and many important papers.

Transport Dept MoU with HDFC Bank

An MOU has been signed between Transport Department, Government of Jharkhand and HDFC Bank Ltd, which will provide digital payment solutions to the department. The MOU was signed in presence of Transport Secretary K Ravi Kumar and Circle Head, HDFC Bank Ltd, Jharkhand Abhishek Kumar. Traffic police will be equipped with POS Machines to collect traffic fines. Also traffic defaulters can pay the fine online through HDFC Bank’s online payment facility. Faiz Ahmed - Transport Commissioner, Vidhyarthi, Joint Secretary, Dharmendra Kumar Cluster Head, HDFC Bank Ltd,  Aditya Pandey - Branch Manager, HDFC Bank Ltd, Santosh Singh - Head Government Business, HDFC Bank Ltd were present on the occasion.

ICFAI ties up with IIT, Delhi

ICFAI University, Jharkhand signed an MOU with IIT, Delhi to for setting up Virtual Labs Nodal Center at the University for the benefit of its Science and Technology students. Today, Prateek Sharma from IIT, Delhi conducted a hands-on webinar for the faculty members of the University and explained, with examples of experiments from Electronics, Computer Science and Mechanical Engineering, how to use the Virtual Labs. Welcoming the participants to the webinar, Prof O R S Rao, Vice-Chancellor of the University said, “Due to COVID-19 Pandemic, our University plans to provide education to our students during first semester of 2020-21 academic year, using Blended Learning Model, wherein digital study material is made accessible to our students on our Swaadhyay Digital Learning Portal and Online classes are held in an interactive way to explain and discuss the concepts.”

6 Kg opium recovered, 4 held

A police team recovered six kilogram opium on Patra bridge in Barkagaon- Keradari road in Hazaribag during the vehicle checking operation on Thursday. Rural Dy SP Vivekanand Thakur said that on a tip off a police team intercepted the vehicle and a motorcycle near the Patra village bridge during the checking operation. The police recovered the two packets of opium 2.5 and 3.5 kg under the seat of driver of the vehicle.

Contact tracing in Garhwa

There has been a stir in the district after Mithilesh Thakur, Minister of Drinking Water and Sanitation Department of Jharkhand was found to be Corona positive.  About 200 people have come in contact with the Minister along with the Health Department District Administration.  More people are being traced.The minister has been on a six-day visit  to Garhwa from June 23 to June 28.  During this, he visited various blocks and listened to the problems of the people.  Not only this, he also held meetings with the officials.  During the tour of the minister, administrative officials, journalists, leaders and common people have come in contact with him and met the minister about their problems.

Gossner holds webinar on visual grammar

The department of Mass Communication and Video Production, Gossner College held a webinar on ‘Handling a video camera and understanding visual language and grammar’ on Thursday wherein national award winning tribal documentary maker Biju Toppo explained about shots, lens, composition, research for photography-documentary, audio, camera movements and camera filters.

As many as 80 participants across the nation attended it on a virtual platform.
