Koraput MP visits CUO

Koraput: Koraput MP Saptagiri Sankar Ulaka made a maiden visit to the Central University of Odisha here with a team of community leaders including former MLAs Nimai Sarkar and Ramachandra Kadam, Manoj Acharya, Rupak Turuk, Bhagaban Muduli, Jagadish Khosla and Pramod Kumar Nag. CUO VC Prof I Ramabrahmam welcomed the team and highlighted the developmental activities undertaken by the university. Registrar Prof Asit Kumar Das, Prof P Durgaprasad, Visiting Professor BB Mishra and senior officers of the university were present.

Press Club, Pallahara gets registration

Pallahara: The Press Club, Pallahara was registered with the Government bearing No.ANG-3224/03/2020. The club held a meeting under chairmanship of president Dr Santosh Dehury. General secretary Sushil Kumar Samal and treasurer Bishnu Prasad Behera and all members attended the meeting and set objectives and guidelines. They thanked ADM Tapan Satpathy for reorganisation and MP Mahesh Sahoo for being advisors’ body head. Tusarkant Mohanty gave a vote of thanks.

Aditya Aluminium observes Population Day

Sambalpur: The Aditya Aluminium Company celebrated the World Population Day at its RR colony Pondoloi, Lapanga in Sambalpur district on Saturday. An awareness session on ‘Reproductive Health and Hygiene’ was organised for adolescent girls in which 30 girls participated. The resource person was Dr Debasmita Senapati from Aditya Aluminium. NHRM Coordinators Yadumani Garnik and Sanjay Patel, Rengali block Vice-Chairman Satyanarayan Agarwal graced the occasion as guests. Prevention of dengue and malaria and the importance of family planning were discussed. CSR Lead Sweta Upadhayay spoke. 

NTPC Talcher Kaniha conducts ORT meeting

Talcher: The NTPC Talcher Kaniha conducted its annual Operational Review Team (ORT) meeting on Friday. CGM Sudip Nag welcomed the guests and congratulated the Team Kaniha for consistently achieving the feat of generating 100 per cent PLF. A short film on safety at the NTPC Talcher Kaniha was screened. Regional ED (ER-II) Sanjeev Kishore joined the meeting through videoconferencing and gave his insightful guidance on improving the station's performance. GMs NS Rao, P Sivaramakrishna, KK Das, Navin Bagai and Rajiv Khanna were present. 

OPGC celebrates Van Mahostav

Jharsuguda: The OPGC celebrated the Van Mahotsav-2020 the IB Thermal colony premises by planting 250 Bakul saplings and 32 Bottle Palms. Director (Operations) Alok Mukherjee inaugurated the event by planting the first sapling. CMO Dr Bijaylal Biswal, Senior GM (Civil) Bijoy Mishra, DGM (Facility Management) Pabitra Mohan Prusty, Head (EHS) Sitaram Sahu were present. The irrigation of the planted saplings post-monsoon would be done completely by recycled water from the sewage treatment plant.
