5 quintal poppy husk, 64 kg marijuana recovered

Chandigarh: Foiling the major drug smuggling bids, Haryana Police, in separate incidents, have seized 500 kg poppy husk and 64 kg 750 gram marijuana (ganja) from Jind and Palwal districts. Police have also arrested four persons in this connection. A spokesperson informed that a team of CIA in Jind got a tip-off that huge consignment of narcotics was placed on a canal track between Ujhana and Neppewala village. On receiving this information, the police team immediately rushed to the spot and recovered 500 kg poppy husk. A person was also arrested in this connection identified as Mohit. In Palwal, an anti-vehicle theft recovered 54 kg 450 gram marijuana from a car during search. Two persons identified as Majlis and Waseem, both residents of district Nuh were arrested. Cases under the provisions of the NDPS Act were registered against them in different Police Stations. Further investigation is underway, he added.

Hry, SIDBI join hands to develop MSME ecosystem

Chandigarh: Haryana Government through its Directorate of MSME and Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) entered a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the objective of development of the MSME ecosystem in Haryana. A spokesman said, SIDBI has spearheaded a few initiatives towards strengthening the enterprise eco system. Setting up a project management unit in 11 states is a key step in this direction. The first such MoU has been signed between Haryana Government and SIDBI. Under the arrangement, SIDBI shall set up a dedicated Project Management Unit (PMU) which will work in coordination with Haryana Government and facilitate schemes for benefit of MSMEs in the state. The focus areas shall include designing schemes for equity support, interest subvention, resolution of stressed MSMEs and learning events for MSME entrepreneurs.
