1 killed, another injured in road mishap

Rourkela: A person was killed on the spot and another injured when a Bolero by which they were travelling hit a roadside tree on the Koelnagar-Jhirapani road on Sunday afternoon. The deceased was identified as Phiru Sahu (40) from Hamirpur slum of Rourkela.

Breastfeeding Week held at Dhamra Port

Dhamra: The Adani Foundation, Dhamra, observed the World Breast Feeding Week from August 1 to 7 for spreading awareness on the benefits of breastfeeding among more than 900 adolescent girls, pregnant women and lactating mothera and elderly women in 22 gram panchayats in vicinity of the Adani Dhamra Port. The week was observed by the Fortune SuPoshan Sanginis. A mobile health unit was engaged in disseminating awareness and for counselling.

Boy drowns in Brahmani in Jajpur

Jajpur: A 12-year-old boy drowned in the Brahmani river while taking bath on Monday. Akhtar, son of Ajin Bux of Chandpur in Maheshwarpur panchayat, slipped into deep water. Locals searched for him and recovered his body after about four hours.
