Punjab gets 4 HF elite breed bulls imported from Germany

Chandigarh: Punjab Government has received four Holstein Friesian (HF) breed bulls which have been imported from Germany. The state Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Minister Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa on Sunday said that under the Rastria Gokal Mission, the National Dairy Development Board has imported Elite Bulls to enhance Germ Plasm of crossbreed cows in the country. He said that Bulls provided to Punjab would not only boost milk production but also help in improving breed of milch cattle in the State. 

Responsibility of Sankriti schools given to heads

Chandigarh: Haryana Government has decided to hand over the responsibility of State Model Sanskriti Senior Secondary Schools to the principals having high level of energy, positive approach, and innovative teaching methodology along with excellent understanding of educational psychology and child psychology. For this, the Government has invited online applications till January 4, 2021, from interested principals who have more than two years of service period remaining. The principals will be selected after an interview.

Haryana Min honours Kashmiri Sevak Samaj members

Chandigarh: Haryana Transport Minister Mool Chand Sharma on Sunday attended the programme organized by Kashmiri Sevak Samaj in Faridabad as the chief guest, wherein he honoured eight members of the Samaj and given ‘Maa Sarika Award’ for their services. The Minister described the people of Kashmiri community as hardworking saying that the people of this community have worked very hard to improve their standard of living after coming here from Kashmir.

Haryana Dy Speaker hears public grievances

Hisar: Haryana Vidhan Sabha Deputy Speaker Ranbir Singh Gangwa on Sunday heard public grievances in Hisar and directed the officers to redress them. On the occasion, the people of the area mostly raised issues concerning supply of drinking water, roads, electricity and public utilities. Gangwa said that it was the State Government’s priority to resolve people’s problems and it will be ensured that there is no scarcity of funds for development in the State.

PU Student wins ‘Miss South Asia World-2020’ title

Chandigarh: Dr Shatakshi, a graduate in Bachelors in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery from Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital, Chandigarh, and currently a student of Masters in Public Health at Panjab University, Chandigarh, won the title of Miss South Asia World-2020. The event took place virtually on December 14, 2020 due to COVID where Bollywood actors, directors and singers were in the judging panel.

101 gram heroin recovered, one held

Chandigarh: As a part of ongoing special anti-drug drive, Haryana Police have seized 101 gram of heroin from a Punjab resident in Fatahabad district. Spokesperson said that the arrested accused was identified as Amandeep alias Aman, a resident of Ludhiana district. Preliminary probe revealed that the arrested accused had bought the seized drug from Hisar for sale in Punjab. The accused has confessed that he had bought the heroin from his friend in Piranwali (in Hisar district) for sale in Punjab. On this, the police have also registered a case against the supplier and started looking for him.

Cyclothon organised to create awareness on COVID-19

Chandigarh: To make citizens aware regarding COVID-19 pandemic, a Cyclothon was organized by Chandigarh Administration on Sunday, in association with Sohana Hospital, Mohali, State Bank of India, Chandigarh, and Adflo Medtech, Mohali, Punjab, in  southern sectors under the leadership of UT SDM (South) Satish Kumar Jain. The cycle rally culminated at SDM (South) office, Sector-42, Chandigarh, after covering all the sectors in the jurisdiction of Southern Division.
