JPCC to organize seminar

A meeting of senior officials of Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC) was held in chairmanship of JPCC Chief, Rameshwar Oraon on Wednesday at the Party Headquarters in the State Capital to discuss the plan to organize and celebrate forthcoming occasions like Independence Day on August, 15 and Rajiv Gandhi’s birth anniversary on August, 20. During the meeting of the party officials it was decided to organize a seminar on former Prime Minister Late Rajiv Gandhi’s philosophy of modern India on August 20. At the same time, on August 15, 74th anniversary of Independence Day it was decided to hoist the national flag at the party headquarter and it has been ensured to honour the personnel and corona warriors working in the health services.

 

Danapur Division officer awarded

Rajbhasha Officer of Dnapur Railway Division Rajmani Mishra of East Central Railway has been awarded the third prize of the prestigious "Premchand Award Scheme" by the Railway Board. The award has been given for the book "Chand Khol Par Thap '' written by him. Chief Rajbhasha Adhikari cum Chief Signal and Telecom Engineer Rajesh Kumar and other high officials of East Central Railway have congratulated him on this achievement. This award is given by the Railway Board to selected participants for story, drama, novel, drama and other prose literature in Hindi.

 

Virtual Janmashtami at SBPS

Janmashtami, the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna was celebrated nationwide with great devotion and reverence. On this occasion, Sarala Birla Public School, Ranchi organized a host of virtual activities for its students.  The students participated wholeheartedly and displayed their beautiful creations. School Head Personnel and Admin Pradip Varma lauded the performance of the students. School Principal, Paramjit Kaur said, "Janmashtami is one of the most celebrated festivals all over the world as lord Krishna's glory is unsurpassable and his story is a source of joy and inspiration for people from all walks of life. Hence, the coming generation should know to live according to our true Dharma and remain steadfast in it."

 

Sanitation Week by RRD

A special Sanitation Week campaign is being run from 10 August 2020 to 16 August 2020, under which today on 12 August 2020, Railway Colony, Railway Colony Campus, Ground Area, Retiring Room, Waiting Hall, Rest House and Dormitories are specially Cleaned. Under the Cleanliness Week campaign, trains and tracks will be specially cleaned on tomorrow, August 13, 2020.

 

 Poultry industry looks for a turnaround

The poultry industry of the country has been an animated topic of discourse during the pandemic which has had a cataclysmic effect on the sector, undergoing incredible losses during the entire lockdown phase. In a recently conducted virtual conclave, experts from diverse backgrounds which included Guest of Honour, Amit Saraogi, managing director, Anmol Feeds and Suresh Rayudu Chitturi, vice chairman and managing director, Srinivasa Farms Pvt. Ltd. Addressing the audience of the conclave, the Guest of Honour, Amit Saraogi stated: “The poultry industry had run into losses of over INR 26,000 crores in just three months, owing to misinformation about COVID 19 spreading from the consumption of chicken and a nationwide supply chain and logistics logjam. In addition, the prices of raw materials, primarily soyameal, had gone up by nearly 10-15 per cent. More than 70 million small farmers were in a deep debt trap owing to severe liquidity crunch and their livelihood was at stake.”

 

‘We the BITians’ programme held

“We the BITians” an inhouse event was organised by the News and Publication Society of Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra on the 10th and 11th of August.The two-day event was approved by the Dean of Student's Welfare, Dr. Anand Kumar Sinha and Associate Dean of Student's Welfare, Dr. Ashok Sharan. It was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Vijay Nath, Faculty Advisor, News and Publication Society. The event, divided into four slots on two days was conducted on Instagram Live and each day was subdivided into two slots. The panelists in the four different slots were students of the K17 batch of BIT who had bagged internships in various prestigious companies.

 

UPES CANCELS ENTRANCE EXAMS

UPES, India’s leading multi-disciplinary & specialization focused University, today announced that UPESEAT 2020 (Engineering Aptitude Test) and UPESPAT 2020 (Pharmacy Aptitude Test) stands cancelled.

 The decision has been taken in light of the pandemic situation and keeping in mind the safety of students and parents. The University also issued revised admission guidelines, according to which admissions for B.Tech. & B.Pharma programs for AY2020 will be done based on 10+2 central/state board results. Commenting on the development, Dr Sunil Rai, Vice-Chancellor, UPES, stated, “Well-being of the students and their parents is of prime concern for us. Therefore, we have decided to cancel UPESEAT and UPESPAT this year. However, we will continue with our admission process and have made appropriate changes to our policies to ensure streamlined enrolments based on merit.”

 

Kia unveils the Sonet

Kia Motors Corporation, one of the world’s largest automakers, revealed the Kia Sonet to the world today in a digital presentation. Manufactured at Kia’s state-of-the-art production facility at Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, the Sonet is Kia’s all-new smart urban compact SUV, and the brand’s latest made-in-India global product after the Seltos. The new Sonet marks Kia Motors’ entry into the burgeoning compact SUV segment, and sets new benchmarks with its first-in-class features. The world premiere of the production-ready model follows the global unveiling of the Sonet concept at the Delhi Auto Expo in February 2020. Sales of the new car will commence soon in India, with sales in many of Kia’s global markets due to follow.
