Aiming to contain the coronavirus spread in the state, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed officials to increase random testing to assess the actual situation so that a strategy could be thrashed out against the infection.
“Prepare an action plan to control COVID-19 in NCR (National Capital Region) districts and carry out random survey to map the spread of the deadly disease,” the chief minister said.
Chairing an Unlock review meeting in Lucknow on Saturday, Yogi said that the surveillance system could be made effective by increasing the number of committees to one lakh.
“Health and medical education departments along with district administration should work in this direction as it will be an important effort to break the infection chain,” he said.
The chief minister directed officials to set up Covid help desks in all hospitals on a priority. The help desk would provide information about treatment and prevention of coronavirus infection.
“Provide sanitiser, infra-red thermometers and pulse oximeter at Covid help desks,” he said.
The chief minister asserted that mass awareness programmes should continue and people should be made aware about Covid prevention.
“Public address systems should be installed at crossings, markets, bus stations and other locations to make people aware. Banners with information about coronavirus should be put up near registration counters in hospitals,” he said.
Yogi also asked officials to put up such banners on coronavirus prevention on the premises of old age homes, children’s homes and women shelter homes and test the inmates for coronavirus.
He directed the officials to make effort to protect police and PAC personnel from coronavirus infection.
The chief minister said all possible measures were to be ensured to improve health care in the present situation.
Stressing the need of availability of adequate number of doctors, he said that doctors engaged in administrative works may also be considered for clinical job.
Reminding officials that all precautions be taken during Unlock process, Yogi said that police should patrol areas focusing on ensuring social distancing. He also asked officials to step up doorstep delivery in containment zones.
The chief minister also directed the officials that transparency be maintained in the ongoing food grain distribution drive and asked district magistrates to monitor the distribution drive and ensure that no needy was deprived of ration. He also directed officials to take firm action against the errant.
