nSix members of inter-State gang involved in ATM breaking were nabbed and recovered firearms and `15 lakh cash from the gang members; two dozen ATM have been targeted by the gang in over five States, said Bhopal IG Upendra Jain while speaking with the media persons on Thursday.
He said that gang member targeted ATM at Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Assam, Maharashtra and Bihar states. The gang targeted IDBI bank ATM at Nipania Jaat on the eve of Diwali and escaped with Rs 6.5 lakh cash.
Police said that acting on a tip off regarding miscreants who were on their way to commit crime again in the state capital after targeting ATM in Sholapur Maharashtra the gang members were nabbed at Parwalia by the investigating teams formed after the ATM breaking in the state capital.
The accused were nabbed from SBI ATM where one of the accused was found cutting the ATM using gas cutter and others were nabbed from car near ATM.
The gang members tied security who was rescued by the police.Police registered case under sections 395 and 397 of the IPC and sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act.
The six accused were identified as Shamsher alias Dalser (40) of Rajasthan, Shahjat alias Shahdat (25) of Haryana, Shakir (30) of Rajasthan, Aas Mohammad (34) of Rajasthan, Masiullah (21) of Haryana and Mushnrif Khan alias Shareef (27) of Haryana.
