JMM demands opening shoes, garment shops & salons

Saturday, 13 June 2020 | PNS | Ranchi

Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) on Thursday demanded from the State Government that shoe, garments shops and salons should be opened in the State from next week with proper precaution.

Addressing a press meet JMM General Secretary, Supriyo Bhattacharya said that a large number of shoes, garment shops and saloon owners are sitting idle without any work and they are facing problems to feed them and their family members. "With the WHO's and ICMR's protocol the State Government should issue proper guidelines to open their shops to these shop owners so that infection could not spread," he added.

The Party also demanded that a person should be penalised for not wearing facemask because the facemasks are the most effective tool to combat Coronavirus, said the party General Secretary.

"Earlier there were various example that people of Jharkhand were carried in the name of employment and they got only Rs 2,000 for the job of Guards, Rs 3,000 for tailoring, but now in the leadership of Chief Minister, Hemant Soren the people of the State will never see such kind of instances. Now, the if the people of the State will have to go to other State for earning then the State Government will allow them to go outside with proper labour laws guidelines. As Hemant Soren's Government is first Government in the history of the State, which sent its labourers to work outside with signing MoU with the employer that the employer would pay them proper salary on time," said Bhattacharya.

Mocking on the Central Government the party General Secretary said that there was news that the Central Government distributed Rs 1000 crore among labourers but no one saw that who got the money and Rs 2000 crore distributed for ventilators but the State has not received a single ventilators from the Central Government.

Seeking immediate election for State Assembly constituency Dumka which was vacated by Chief Minister, Soren because he also won from Barhet constituency, Bhattacharya said that the party is demanding immediate election for the seat as keeping the seat without representative is also not proper justice for the people of the seat.
