JPCC begins preparation for Bermo by election

Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC) on Sunday started preparations for the Bermo Assembly by-election. In order to do so, JPCC Chief and Food Supply Minister, Rameshwar Oraon held a meeting of party officials and senior leaders at the residential office of late former MLA Rajendra Prasad Singh, located in Jaridih block under Bermo assembly constituency.

Following the social distancing norms, the meeting was attended by Bokaro Congress Committee President Manzoor Ahmad Ansari, the block president of all the blocks falling under the Bermo Assembly, INTUC officials, Panchayat level officials, Panchayat representative to the district level party officials were present. The meeting was conducted by Anoop Jayamangal Singh, son of Rajendra Singh.

Addressing party leaders and office-bearers on the occasion, Oraon said that the Bermo assembly by-election is set to happen in the next few months due to the demise of former MLA Singh. He said that in this by-election, the Congress candidate would win with double margin. The meeting was held with the block presidents and general party workers so that everyone could be assured that the Congress’ victory in Bermo is definite, he added.

Oraon said that in the Coalition Government in the State, the party has four people related departments, through the Rural Development Department, the Government is trying to provide employment to the people, the party’s workers at village level should ensure that all the laborers get employment and they should also get wages on time, Congress workers should work to become people’s voice, if it is ensured that no one can stop the party’s victory.

The Food Supply Minister said that ration cards are being made available to every needy family from the Food Supply Department, 14 percent of the population, who do not have ration cards, are the real poor, party workers should raise their voice and the Government will provide ration cards to those 14 per cent poor people. He informed that efforts are also being made to provide help to the public through the Department of Agriculture and the Department of Health.

JPCC Spokesperson Alok Kumar Dubey said that in connection with the by-election, JPCC Chief met separately to the block presidents following the social distance norms. He also met INTUC officials, senior leaders and workers of the district. JPCC Spokespersons Lal Kishorenath Shahdeo, Rajesh Gupta Chhotu, Amulya Neeraj Khalkho, Youth Congress leader Sunny Toppo, State Congress Committee Minority Department President Shakeel Akhtar Ansari, Nasim Akhtar, Shibli were present on the occasion.
