Kejriwal launches ‘Rozgaar Bazaar' portal

Tuesday, 28 July 2020 | Staff Reporter | NEW DELHI

In order to bridge the gap between job seekers and employers, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday launched Rozgaar Bazaar site Jobs.delhi.gov.in.

While many people have lost their jobs, businesses amid Corona pandemic, the site received massive response within six hours of its launch.

According to government data, so far, 51,403 job- seekers registered while 1071 employers post 18,585 vacancies.

Addressing virtually, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said,”I appeal to the traders, industrialists, NGOs, people and media to join hands to revive Delhi’s economy from the impact of lockdown.”

Job seekers in Delhi can also update their qualifications, experience, and desired positions under  multiple job categories.

Urging media and industrialists to join hand with government to revive Delhi’s economy, Kejriwal said, this portal will particularly help people who lost their jobs and businesses who had been affected due to the Corona pandemic and successive lockdown.

“The people of Delhi have successfully fought Corona in the last 3 months. Now we have to move to the next stage. During the Corona pandemic, people lost their jobs, shops and factories were shut down.”

“People have suffered huge losses, and many people suffered from hunger. Even though the government arranged for their food during the lockdown, but people need jobs and businesses now, the shops and factories should be reopened. Now, we all need to pay attention to the economy. And I have full faith in Delhiites that they will do this, just as they have achieved great targets in the past. I want to appeal to the people of Delhi to please come together and take steps to improve the condition of the economy in Delhi,” Kejriwal said.

When the corona was at its peak, the Delhi government advocated the lifting of the lockdown at the earliest however our government also worked towards improving the situation instead of placing a lockdown again,” Kejriwal said while focusing on solutions for the revival of economy.

“We are hearing that there several cities are rushing to impose 2-10 days lockdowns, but I am happy that there was no need to reimpose lockdown in Delhi," he added.

He said, "Now we all have to work together to improve the economic situation of Delhi. Many migrant laborers had left Delhi in the last three months. They have  started coming back in huge numbers now. I want to appeal to the rest, it is your Delhi. Coronavirus cases were rising drastically, and many people left Delhi in fear of the rising cases. The Corona situation is improving in Delhi, and the businesses and shops have started reopening. I would like to appeal to all to come back to Delhi. The industries, shops, construction activities, etc that were shut down want to reopen, but there is no manpower."

“To synchronize and match these two sides, the Delhi government is launching a job portal - 'jobs.delhi.gov.in', where employers can post jobs citing desired qualifications, designation, position, experience. The people seeking jobs can also register on this website, citing the experience they have, their academic qualifications, and the categories they want jobs in, such as tourism, hotel industry, construction, etc. They can also fill in multiple categories. This is a Rozgaar Bazaar, where the job seekers and job providers will come together and people will get jobs. I hope that this will benefit all, businesses, industries, construction employers, shopkeepers, professionals, and job seekers," CM Kejriwal said.

Labour Minister, Gopal Rai, who also attended the conference said this is a free platform and no one will be needed to pay, do not pay to any third person for jobs on this website.

"Any person can apply to this platform. The job seekers will log in with their mobile number and then they will get the option to select the category of job. One person can apply for one job or more it is an open platform. The employers can also log in and put up their requirements. There are various private websites for jobs but this website is completely free. I want to inform every citizen that in this platform nobody will be needed to pay a single penny so if there is any person who asks for money here then do not give any money. I will request all the businessmen, industrialists to come forward and register here. I will also request the government skill centres like IT etc to register, ” said Rai.
