Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has sought a detailed analysis from Health Secretary on Covid-19 deaths.

Interestingly, from the past trends, this has been learnt that at the peak of the Corona cases, Delhi has seen 120 deaths in a single day in the first week of June, number of deaths on July 7 have gone down to 50.

On the direction of Kejriwal, the health Secretary has to submit detailed analysis on the factors responsible behind COVID-19 deaths and further measures to further reduce the death rate.

According to government official, Delhi government will take concrete steps to reduce deaths in the capital after receiving a detailed report from Health Secretary.

“The detailed analytical report on Covid related deaths in Delhi will aid the implementation of more stringent measures to reduce deaths. It will also help mitigate the other causes that have added to the casualties, such as co-morbidities, age, and health condition. This will ascertain the cause of the deaths.,” a government official said.

The measures taken by the Delhi government, such as the increase in the number of ICU beds in the hospitals, installation of more oxygen beds, plasma bank, etc, has reduced the death rate and the positivity ratio. To bring the death rate to zero, the Delhi Government will prepare further steps to be taken after obtaining a detailed analysis of the Covid-19 deaths from the Health Secretary.

Meanwhile, the  Health Secretary of the Delhi government has assured Chief Minister Kejriwal that he will soon prepare and submit a detailed analysis of the deaths related to Covid-19, so that the Delhi government can execute further measures to reduce the death rate.
