Under Gamak series, a lecture by Rakesh Sharma on Hundred Years of Cinema and Dance Drama by Ragini Makhr, Indore was presented.
The programme started with a lecture by Rakesh Sharma in which he said there are many experiments in Hindi poetry in cinematography. Nirala broke the stanza and also introduced the new song. The poem, which was confined to the royal courts, made it a medium for expressing happiness and sorrow to the common people rather than entertainment.
Nirala, through his journalism, raised questions before the British Empire. Jaishankar Prasad took many references from Indian cultural heritage and placed them in front of the then Indian society and proved what Indianness meant.
Sumitranandan Pant composed poems on the relationship between nature and human beings. Mahadevi Varma drew the attention of the society towards protecting the female identity and her femininity.
As the view of women identity is more broad, the view of the poetical poets. Entire poetry was composed in Hindi Khadi Boli and since then it has become the language of Hindi poetry. The second performance was a Kathak dance performed by noted Kathak dancer and guru Ragini Makkhar and her disciples. She showcased the six seasons in this presentation - spring, summer, rain, Sharad, Hemant and Shishir all feature different forms of Kathak with their specialties like Tarana, Thumri, Bandish, Hori forms etc. This presentation was based on the footsteps of the famous poet Shri Padmakar Ji of the ritual period, with the depiction of Kathak in the tirtala, metaphor, jhapatala, kaharwa rhythms.
