n A State Cabinet meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday approved a proposal for amendment of the Odisha Local Fund Audit Act, 1948 for facilitating issuance of surcharge notices and orders on officers and officials.
Under the provisions of the Act, difficulties were faced to physically serve surcharge notices and orders on delinquent officers in time since it was always not possible to readily track the present address of officers and officials as they get transferred often.The Act is now amended to include electronic mode of service of surcharge notices and orders on the delinquent officers and officials by making the notices and orders available in the HRMS portal of the State Government in addition to the existing manual modes of service, informed an official release.
