A special suit has been prepared for personnel of the Government Railway Police (GRP) and Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB) working on the frontline in efforts to assist the public and contain the spread of COVID-19. This suit is quite cheap and will not entail financial burden on the railways.
Railway SP, Manjunath TC informed this correspondent that after much deliberation, this suit has been made by mixing plastic and cotton after consulting a factory in Haridwar. Each of these suits costs Rs 175 only. He further informed that at a time when the whole nation is facing challenges resulting from the spread of COVID-19, personnel of the GRP and IRB are engaged in serving the citizens amidst the lockdown. Special protective suits were manufactured for these personnel in collaboration with a factory in Haridwar to ensure that the personnel are not infected by the virus, he added.
