Lowest 4 deaths in 130 days

The daily Covid-19 deaths in the State declined to four on Sunday, the lowest in a gap of over 130 days. Now, the total death toll increased to 1,734.

Two patients succumbed to the virus in Khordha district while one each died in Baleswar and Dhenkanal.

Earlier, the State had recorded its lowest one-day deaths on July 18 which was three.

Meanwhile, the State reported 518 new positive cases from 27 districts and the State pool which took the total positives’ tally to 3,18,307.

Of the new cases, 297 were from quarantine and 221 local contact cases.

Sundargarh reported the day’s 52 cases followed by Mayurbhanj 49, Cuttack 45, Khordha 40, Balangir 37, Angul 36, Baleswar 26, Keonjhar 25, Bargarh 24, Nuapada 23, Kendrapada and Sambalpur17 each, Jagatsinghpur and Jharsuguda16 each, Puri 15, Koraput nine,  Kalahandi and Bhadrak six each, Malkangiri, Kandhamal and Subarnapur four each and Deogarh, Nabarangpur and Rayagada one each

Eight cases were reported from the State pool.

Boudh, Gajapati and Nayagarh district recorded zero new cases on the day.
