In a tragic incident, a man allegedly committed suicide after suspecting himself of being affected by the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) at Matalgada under Gurundia panchayat of Sundargarh district on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Ananda Kumar Lakra (30). According to reports, he had returned from Maharashtra around 45 days ago. He had flu-like symptoms, for which he was put under quarantine.
However, his body was found hanging from a tree near the quarantine facility in the locality. Being informed, police reached the village, recovered the body for postmortem and initiated an investigation.
