Chhattisgarh Police on Saturday arrested a 37-year-old man for operating an IPL betting racket from a house in Chhattisgarh’s state capital.
Raipur Senior Superintendent of Police Ajay Kumar Yadav told The Pioneer that Chitranjan Negi alias Baba (37) is a resident of Raipur city.
Police seized five mobile phones, a laptop, Rs 5,300 in cash and betting records detailing transactions of around Rs 1 crore from him, Yadav said.
The accused had bet on the IPL match played between Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders on Friday night from the house in the Khamardih police station limits in Raipur, the officer added.
As of Saturday, police have arrested 27 persons for operating IPL betting rackets in the state capital.
