A Maoist rebel carrying a reward of ?1 lakh on his head and allegedly involved in the Cholnar blast that killed seven policemen in 2018, was arrested on Wednesday in Dantewada district, police said.
Midiam Hurra (20), was arrested from the forest of Kirandul police station limits, located around 400 km from here, by personnel from the district reserve guard and the local police, Dantewada superintendent of police Abhishek Pallava said.
Hurra, who had joined the outlawed CPI (Maoist) in 2016, was active as a member of local guerilla squad (LGS) under the Malangir area committee of the Maoists, he said.
He was allegedly part of the Maoist rebel squad that killed seven security personnel after blowing up their vehicle with an IED on the Cholnar road in the Kirandul area in May 2018, he said.
Besides, he was also allegedly involved in the killing of a villager in Tikanpal village in November last year, the district police chief said.
