Taking cognizance of the consistent rise in the coronavirus infection cases in the district, Bokaro Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Kumar banned mass gathering. Under the section 3 of the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897 and Section 19 of the Jharkhand Epidemic Diseases COVID-19 Act 2020 gathering of people is banned across the district, said Kumar.
“Besides marriage ceremony, home entry, birthday party, farewell ceremony, foundation ceremony, inauguration and other functions are also banned,” he added.
In the video conference chaired by the Chief Secretary, it has been directed that no permission is allowed by the district administration to organize any kind of marriage ceremony, home entrance, birthday party, farewell ceremony and others in a marriage hall, banquet hall and in community hall.
In a bid to curtail the spread of COVID-19 Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has also been directed to comply with the social distancing rules; any kind of congestion or gathering of people is banned, said an official.
For its supervision and monitoring, a region-wise team has been constituted under the chairmanship of the senior officers.
Kumar also issued an order to seal all the marriage halls, banquet halls, community halls and others with immediate effect running in the district and provide photographs along with a report.
