To expedite work in ongoing projects, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya released Rs 150 crore for seven projects on Wednesday. The fund was procured as loan from Asian Development Bank (ADB).
In a communiqué released on Wednesday, Maurya said that funds were released to seven cities under UP Main Districts Road Development Project financed by the ADB. He said the total budget of the project was Rs 1614.46 crore and Rs 775.04 crore had been released till now.
The deputy chief minister said that under UP Core Road Development Programme funded by the World Bank, Rs 40 crore were released for four ongoing projects.
Under these projects, broadening of 262.38 kilometre roads have been carried out and of the total estimated cost of Rs 1412.07 crore, Rs 490.36 crore has been released.
Maurya said that for acquisition of land for two projects under Indo-Nepal Border Road Construction Project, the state government had released Rs 5.51 crore and a notification was released by Public Works Department (PWD) in this regard.
Maurya, who holds the PWD portfolio, also directed officials to ensure full utilisation of released funds and to expedite ongoing work while maintaining social distancing and other safety protocols to check coronavirus spread.
He claimed that all projects be completed in time and all standard norms be followed, failing which action would be initiated against the errant officials.
