On the first day of 'Dengue Bhagao Abhiyan' of the Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD), the team of the corporation spread awareness among the locals about dengue in 10 out of 100 wards besides imposing penalties on the owners of those residential and commercial buildings who let the water collect in or near their premises.
Moreover, the sanitation workers also did fogging and sprayed disinfectant at the sites where water had accumulated and distributed flyers to spread awareness among locals.
On Thursday, the corporation imposed fine on 80 residential and non-residential bodies collecting Rs 18,000. According to the officials, the corporation will continue this campaign for the next 15 days covering all the 100 wards of Dehradun.
