MCNUJC to launch community radio at new campus, says VC

The Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication, Bhopal will soon establish a community radio at its upcoming new campus at Bishankhedi in Bhopal. New Vice Chancellor Prof KG Suresh announced here on Friday.

Addressing the university leadership team, Prof Suresh said an internet radio would also be established soon along with the community radio to provide hands-on training to students and create awareness on various issues among the local community.

A committee chaired by Shrikant Singh, Head of Department of Electronic Media, with Shreedhar Rammurthy, who established India's first community radio 'Radio Anna' as honorary advisor, has been set up for the purpose. The other members of the panel are Ramesh Hangloo (Head of Radio Sharda), Ashish Joshi (Director, Production, MCU).

Prof Suresh said, it has been decided to revive the popular course BSc. (Graphic and Animation) from this academic session itself. Similarly, number of seats in M.Sc. (New Media) has been increased. Prof Suresh took a review of activities of different departments.
