Mega loan mela organised for street vendors, urban poor

A Mega Loan Mela was organised by SLBC, Jharkhand under Pradhanmantri Swanidhi Yojana and DAY-NULM for all street vendors, women belonging to urban poor group, unemployed poor youths at Harmu Ground on Saturday. The Mega Loan Mela was inaugurated by Chief Guest, Secretary, Urban Development and Housing Department Vinay Kumar Choubey. On this occasion, Director, Urban Development and Housing Department, Vijaya Jadhav, Assistant Director Shailesh Kumar Priyadarshi, Ranchi Municipal Corporation Deputy Town Commissioner Kunwar Singh Pahan, General Manager SLBC Ravindra Kumar Das, General Manager Bank of India (NBG Chhattisgarh) Rajendra Man Pandey, Deputy General Manager Bank of India Ganesh Toppo, Deputy General Manager Bank of India, Ranchi Zone  Paritosh Kumar and Lead District Manager-Ranchi Sanjay Kumar Sinha were present.

In the fair Bank of India, State Bank of India, Union Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, Punjab National Bank alongwith all nationalized banks including Indian Bank, All Private Bank-Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, Karnataka Bank, IDBI Bank Jammu & Kashmir Bank, Jharkhand State Gramin Bank, prominent Small Finance Bank, Leading District Office, Ranchi put up their stalls.

The target was to provide loans to all the banks in Ranchi district under Pradhan Mantri Swanidhi Yojana to a total of 2344 street vendors. In the loan fair, a large number of beneficiaries from the Ranchi Municipal Corporation area showed their interest for the loan, which the loan was made available after checking the loan applications by the representatives of the respective banks. In view of the Covid epidemic, the loan camp was fully sanitized and all the guidelines issued by the government in this regard were followed.

In the fair, a total of 550 loan applications were accepted by various banks under the Pradhan Mantri Swanidhi Yojana. Apart from this, a total of 250 loan applications were created by various banks under DAY-NULM scheme.
