Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel's stand on the farm bills is anti-Constitution and anti-farmer and it will be devious to move a resolution in the state Assembly against the Central government, former Chief Minister and BJP leader Dr Raman Singh said on Sunday.
He was reacting to the challenge thrown to him by the Chief Minister regarding the three bills and amendments in labour laws.
Dr Singh said those with the Congress earning crores will be affected by the bills.
The BJP leader said since coming to power, the Congress-led government in Chhattisgarh has been spreading lies against the Central government to create chaos. On each step, the Congress leadership has opposed the Modi government, he said.
He pointed out under the Concurrent list the Lok Sabha too can make laws. How can it then be a contempt of the federal structure? When the bills were taken for discussion, Congress MPs never raised the validity or the rights of the Central government.
“So, by bringing a resolution in the Chhattisgarh Assembly, the Chief Minister is raising questions over his own political understanding,” he said.
The Central government has taken a revolutionary decision in favour of farmers which has unsettled the opposition parties. Like the Rafale issue, this issue too will nosedive, the former Chief Minister stated.
He said the Congress is trying to create confusion on the issue of farmers and ‘traders’. This is also true for contract farming provisions.
