Bhubaneswar BJP MP Aparajita Sarangi on Saturday urged Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to allow construction of a drain inside the 120 Infantry Battalion premises in Bhubaneswar.
In a Tweet, Srangi said the proposed drain is a longstanding demand of the Nayapalli area residents as after this drainage work, flooding of the area during rains would stop.
The MP also submitted a memorandum in this regard to the Minister.
Notably, during rainy season, many places of Nayapalli, especially Behera Sahi get flooded.
Locals allege that water drained from the Iskcon area causes flood in the low-lying areas of Nayapalli.
The proposed drain in the 120 Infantry Battalion would resolve the flooding issue, they say.
