Naib Tehsildar, BDO among six suspended by Haryana Govt

Taking cognizance of complaints on the C.M. Window, Haryana Government on Friday issued suspension orders of six officers and employees, including a Naib Tehsildar and BDO.

The orders were issued on the directions of the Chief Minister Manohar Lal by Project Director, Chief Minister's Good Governance Associates Programme, Rakesh Gupta and OSD to Chief Minister, Bhupeshwar Dayal during a review meeting of C.M. Window, Social Media Grievances Tracker (SMGT) here.

Rakesh Gupta said that the Chief Minister has given strict instructions towards zero-tolerance towards corruption in the state.

During the review meeting, the Superintendent of Police of Panipat was directed to constitute a special team to arrest the Sarpanch, Rair Kalan village in Panipat district. The said Sarpanch is absconding after committing an embezzlement of Rs 1.87 crore from the panchayati fund.

In another case of misappropriation of panchayati funds in Mewat, an amount to the tune of Rs 1.60 crore was withdrawn on the basis of fake documents. Immediate action was taken when the matter came to the notice of the Chief Minister wherein suspension orders of the BDO Amit Kumar and the then Panchayat Secretary were issued and directions to register an FIR against them were also given.

In another matter wherein the officer was unable to respond to the queries made during the meeting, Rakesh Gupta issued suspension orders of Rishi Dangi, the nodal officer of CM Window of Panchayati Raj Department, with immediate effect. He further issued instructions to appoint an HCS officer as the nodal officer for CM Window for the Department in his place.

Besides, strict disciplinary proceedings were initiated against the then Executive Officer, Municipal Council BN Bharti (retired), for being hand in glove with a builder for illegal acquisition of PWD land in Narnaul, Mahendragarh. The then Building Inspector Bhim Singh was also suspended with immediate effect.

In a complaint regarding corruption allegations against an officer of the Cooperation Department, Inspector Amit Kumar working in Karnal district has also been suspended. The said inspector in connivance with his relatives had set up a bogus society. These societies were duping people by creating fake ID cards using government logos. Thus, strict proceedings have also been ordered against Inspector Amit Kumar.Taking strict action against Naib Tehsildar, Shivraj Singh for his appointment on the basis of forged documents, orders were issued to register two FIRs against him in two separate cases and his suspension orders were issued with immediate effect.

In another case, Patwari Jai Singh of district Kaithal was suspended with immediate effect for not making entry regarding acquisition of land. The orders for registration of FIR against him by the Department concerned were also given.

Taking cognizance of another complaint, an order was issued to the Superintendent of Police to probe the matter by constituting a special team to investigate matter regarding embezzlement of Rs 1.10 crore by the officers in Alika of Dabwali tehsil of Sirsa district. The officers are presently absconding. Besides this, the matter was directed to be sent to the State Vigilance Bureau for further investigation.

Eight officers of HUDA chargesheeted

Taking strict action against eight officers of Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA), the Chief Minister has directed to chargesheet them on the basis of a complaint made by a Panchkula-based resident on CM’s Twitter handle.

The complaint was regarding use of poor quality material by Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA), Panchkula, in connivance with the contractors, for construction of roads in sectors across Ghaggar River in Panchkula. It was stated in the complaint that due to the connivance of the officers of the Department, corruption to the tune of crores of rupees has been committed.

During the review meeting of C.M. window, it was stated that despite the investigation by the State Vigilance Bureau in the matter, the officers continued to protect other officers, and two XEN, Ashok Rana and Aditya Sharma, two SDOs Rajesh Khurana and MP Sharma, two JEs Puran Chand and Subhash Chand, a retired XEN Bhupendra Pal and a retired SDO Sunil Jain were involved in the case.
