Narcotics, SIM cards seized from house of deputy superintendent Bhondsi jail

nThe Gurugram Police has recovered 230 grams of charas valued at Rs 10 lakh and 11 (4G) mobile sim cards from the house of the deputy superintendent of the Bhondsi jail.The police have arrested two accused including the deputy superintendent jail.

The accused persons have been identified as Dharambir Chautala, the deputy superintendent of the Bhondsi jail, and Ravi alias Goldie a resident of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh currently resides at Wazirabad.

According to the police, following secret inputs about supply of mobile phones, simcards and noarcotics in the jail a team led by Sandeep Malik, ACP (sohna) and Raj Kumar, Incharge CIA sector-39 acting promptly on the information raid at the jail premises and found the involvement of the deputy superintendent and his accomplice.

The police officials said that following directions of the police commissioner Gurugram, KK Rao to keep a close watch on the dreaded criminals in jail they received the tip-off and successfully arrested the culprits.

Later in the day when the investigation team searched the house of the deputy superintendent jail the police team recovered 230 grams of an illegal psychotropic substance drug ‘charas’ of Rs 10 lakh and 11 (4G) mobile simcards.

“Initial questioning of the accused revealed that they used to provide 4G SIM to the jail inmates, so that they could use in WhatsApp calling and other social media app through the internet. They used to charge 20 thousand rupees per simcards from the criminals. Also they about to sell recovered 230 grams of an illegal drug to the jail inmates for about 10 lakh rupees,” said Preet Pal Sangwan, ACP (crime).

He further said more information is being obtained from the Deputy Superintendent Jail and his accomplice during the police remand. “During the police custody, the accused will be closely questioned about other fellow accused involved in this act. The case is under investigation,” Sangwan said.

The FIR was filed under sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and other relevant sections of the IPC at the Bhondsi police station.
