National Conference on Women Social Entrepreneurship concludes at RTU

A two-day National Conference on Women Social Entrepreneurship concluded on Saturday at Rabindranath Tagore University.

The conference was organized in collaboration with the Center for Social Entrepreneurship of Tata Institute of Social Sciences Mumbai. On the second day of the program on Saturday, various dimensions of the Woman Social Entrepreneur were discussed. In the first session of the day, "Entrepreneurship Education - What and How?"

Monica Mehta, executive vice president of Wadhwani Foundation, said that the number of women entrepreneurs in India is only 15 percent. But despite such small numbers, they are considered important for economic development and poverty reduction. This shows the potential and possibilities of women. At the same time, he also suggested to women that they should consider themselves to be victims and stop showing themselves and work to suit the circumstances.

He also cited several factors that push women backward such as not being financially competent, being able to stay out of the house with limited ability, not being able to take much risk, and by addressing these problems, we We can make a better way for the future. The session was conducted by Prof. of Tata Institute of Social Sciences. Satyajit Majumdar did it.

The second session of the conference "Process in Woman Social Entrepreneurship - Is there anything unique?" Stayed on the topic. It featured three distinguished women entrepreneurs including Kharm James and founder of Jewelery Shweta Pathak, Khadiji founder Umang Sridhar, Canfem co-founder and CEO Aakriti Gupta, who spoke on their topic. During this, Umang Sridhar said that Entrepreneur's Journey is a process of learning in itself.

In the last expert session, the topic of 'Research on Women Entrepreneurship for Impact' was discussed in which Prof. Prof. Chairperson of Center for Social Entrepreneurship of Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. Sampathi Guha, Head Chandralekha Ghosh of Department of Economics at West Bengal University and Usha Ganesh, Doctoral Scholar at Tata Institute of Social Sciences, gave their statements.
