Navaratri Kalash Pooja organised in J'suguda

Tuesday, 20 October 2020 | PNS | JHARSUGUDA

With the organisation of the Kalash Pooja, the Shardiya Navaratri celebrations began in Jharsuguda district on Saturday with devotees paying their obeisance to the first avatar of Goddess Durga - Maa Shailputri in temples and their homes.

The Garvagruhas of several temples only have opened across the district in strict adherence to Covid 19  guidelines, urging devotees to wear masks and follow social distancing.

The devotees were seen wearing masks and those who did not were instructed to do so immediately.

Kalibadi Durga Puja Committee president Tapas Kumar Ray Choudhury said that the puja was being held for the sake of rituals.

There are guidelines to the puja committees to keep idols height at maximum 4 feet and ensure that no more than seven devotees are allowed simultaneously to visit the pandals.

Prasad distribution and any kind of offering are also not allowed.

There is some disappointment due to these guidelines among devotees and organisers, sources informed.
