To contain the spread of coronavirus, the Jagatsinghpur district administration has imposed a ban on entry of people from neighbouring districts.

In a video message, district Collector SK Mohaptra also advised people of the district to curtail tours to districts where corona spreading is at peak. He appealed to citizens to adhere to instructions being issued to check community spreading.”Any person visiting Jagatsinghpur from its adjacent districts Cuttack, Puri, Kendrapada and Khurda would be put on a 14-day quarantine period,” he said, adding, “People wishing to go to workplaces in these districts need to obtain permission from the administration.”

He requested people not to visit Government offices frequently and lodge their grievances through social media.

Out of 388 Covid positive cases detected in the district so far, 298 have recovered. The district has not reported any Covid death.
