Newly-wed pregnant woman found hanging

Friday, 07 August 2020 | PNS | NABARANGPUR

A body of a newlywed pregnant woman was found hanging from the ceiling of a house at Bhima Sahi in the Papadahandi area of Nabarangpur district on Wednesday night.

The deceased was identified as Tanushree Nayak, who was eight-month pregnant. Her parents’ family members have lodged a complaint with police alleging that her husband Albert Shakespeare and in-laws murdered her over dowry demand.

Tanushree had married Albert on October 5 last year. Both were staying in a rented house at Bhima Sahi since then. Albert telephoned her family members at night and informed that she had committed suicide.

The accused persons absconded after the incident. Police recovered the body and started an investigation into the matter.
